As a General Utility Operator with Liberty Plastics, you’ll join a team of dedicated individuals from diverse backgrounds who are committed to safety & quality and take great pride in creating corrugated plastic solutions that protect and provide product security to a range of industries. 

This full-time position will report to the Production Supervisor at our Liberty Plastics manufacturing facility in Baldwyn, Mississippi.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for inspecting master rolls that are loaded onto the conveyor. 
  • Splicing onto rolls for glue line usage prior to the router. 
  • Monitors the depth and quality of the routed material that is to be glued. 
  • Ensures there is the correct amount of material between the router and the gluer / folder. 
  • Checks JD Edwards Item Availability to make sure the rolls that are on the conveyor are in the correct location. 
  • Scans in Master Rolls with the RF gun. 
  • Assists with changeovers on the line. 
  • Assists with cutting down all scrap rolls and converting rolls into four-foot stick products. 
  • Cleaning and keeping the work area neat, organized, and free of debris. 
  • Monitor quality.  
  • Report any quality issues to the team leader. 
  • Troubleshoot any minor problems as they arise. Seek team leader’s assistance if needed. 
  • Responsible for banding completed pallets. 
  • Prints all finished goods move tickets. 
  • Scanning of finished product with the RF gun. 
  • Stretch wraps all completed pallets. 
  • Assists with palletizing products and catching rolls as they come off the glue line. 
  • Assists with any rework accumulated at the end of the glue line. 
  • Assists with cutting down scrap and converting certain scrap to four-foot stick products. 
  • Checks item specifications for correct palletizing of finished goods. 
  • Cross train in all positions in RVR department 
  • Assist team members as needed. 
  • Other duties, as assigned

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to read work instructions (i.e.  SOP’s, Specs, etc.)  
  • Must be able to work overtime as required  
  • Ability to work well with others and apply effective communication skills.
  • You thrive in the speed and precision demanded in operating industrial equipment.
  • You embrace technological advancements yet are grounded in fundamental mechanics.
  • You take pride in keeping a safe, clean, and organized work area.
  • Basic math and reading, basic computer skills, good organizational skills, basic blueprint reading skills. 

 

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • A minimum of 1 year of work experience within a manufacturing environment is preferred.  
  • Forklift operation experience 
  • RF Scan Gun experience  

 

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The starting pay rate for this position is $17.00 per hour. The compensation posted is the anticipated pay for the position at the time of the posting. We may pay above or below posted amount based on several factors, including, but not limited to education and/or certifications, skills, experience, or work location.  Some positions may qualify for additional compensation in the form of bonuses.

  • Must be able to work in crowded spaces for 4+ hours per shift

  • Must be able to walk for 6+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to reach and grasp up to 6+ hours per shift
