POSITION SUMMARY 
The Electrical Engineer is needed to support our team at Liberty Paper.  This position is a combination of capital project management and electrical/E&I support for day-to-day operations of the paper manufacturing process.  This engineer will provide direct and indirect project management for capital projects including electrical scope, schedule, cost, resource management, quality, and risk management.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Works with project managers on planning, development, and execution of the electrical portions of capital projects.
  • Develops budgets, estimates labor, material and construction costs for projects.
  • Works with the principal electrical engineer on plant electrical design, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities ensuring compliance with mill specifications.
  • Prepares specifications for purchase of materials and equipment.
  • Works with Maintenance E&I technicians on logic/controls work orders. 
  • Works with Process Control Engineer on loop creation and tuning.
  • Update electrical drawings using AutoCad.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional societies.
  • Collaborates with other engineers, vendors, customers, employees, and contractors to complete assigned tasks.
  • Drive safety and compliance excellence through effective work execution, personally modeling safe behaviors. 
  • Longer hours or flex shifts may be required on facility’s maintenance downs, approximately 3-5x per year.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS 
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET accredited college or university OR Associate/Technical Degree in a related field with 2+ years heavy industry experience
  • 3+ Years of Previous Related Experience 
  • Project Management skills
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS 
  • Paper mill or heavy manufacturing experience highly desired.
  • AutoCAD and power modeling software proficiency
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with very strong attention to detail/commitment to accuracy
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with all levels within the organization; professionally represents self, and LPI to external contacts.
  • Strong and comprehensive computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Collaborative team player who maintains a positive attitude
