POSITION SUMMARY

As a Shipping / Receiving Coordinator at Liberty Packaging, you will support successful shipping and receiving operations by planning shipments based on product availability and customer requests, tracking orders to ensure timely deliveries, preparing shipping documents.  This role drives value by execution in the areas of safety, technology, process improvement, and freight management.

 

This full-time position reports to the Warehouse Supervisor and is located at our Fort Worth, Texas manufacturing facility.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • In partnership with the Warehouse Supervisor, develop load plans based on customer needs, freight availability, and trailer utilization for local and out-of-state transportation
  • Review customer release dates and aligns with facility Production Scheduler and Customer Service team to coordinate deliveries of finished goods
  • Provide guidance, structure, and prioritization to warehouse team to load trailers efficiently in support of delivery plan
  • Prepares, reviews, and retains documents such as shipments, load sheets, bill of lading and other documents
  • Diagnoses and notifies production and customer service teams of any discrepancies of materials versus internal records
  • Coordinate the schedule of shipping and delivery of materials through carriers
  • Facilitates both outbound and inbound calls to external customers to schedule delivery appointments
  • Partners with other departments to rescheduled missed appointments
  • Communicates with the customer service team to identify any priority loads
  • Performs daily, weekly, monthly cycle counts, produces and provides inventory reports to Warehouse leadership team, and participates in physical inventory process
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution
  • 2+ years of experience working in a production warehouse as a forklift operator, coordinator, or inventory specialist or comparable
  • Previous experience using Microsoft Office programs such as Word; to write business correspondence, Excel; for use of spreadsheets, reporting, simple formulas, and Outlook; for correspondence
  • Willing and able to work off shift, including holidays, weekends and overtime as needed.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Manufacturing industry experience preferred

  • Must be able to lift up-to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to work in hot, humid, and cold manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to stand for 6+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to walk for 6+ hours per shift
  • Manual and finger dexterity used regularly with some repetitive finger motions
  • Ability to work in front of a computer screen for long periods of time
  • Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision; able to identify colors, small letters, and numbers; hand/eye coordination, depth perception and able to adjust focus
  • Hearing and speaking
  • Other conditions may include frequent reaching, stretching, pushing, pulling, pinching, grasping, and gripping.
