POSITION SUMMARY

As the Accounts Receivable Specialist with Safco, a Liberty Diversified International company, you work closely with operations and accounting management to maintain internal control procedures, standards, and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles. This position reports directly to the Accounting Manager and is located at LDI’s headquarters in New Hope, Minnesota. It is a hybrid position with up to two days per week of remote work. The Accounts Receivable Specialist will be responsible for all credit and collections functions as well as analysis of an accounts receivable portfolio. In this role you will work with customers to service and collect accounts receivable that are due to the company while providing superior service to our customers. You will also be an expert on your set of customers and be able to identify and review trends. You will also become a power user on JD Edwards.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process credits, debits, re-bills, and research invoices to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and credits. Post transactions and review for accuracy and compliance with policies.
  • Research accounts for receivables, activity, payments, deductions, credits, and write-offs, including maintaining/ensuring all proper documentation is in order.
  • Communicate with customers on payment and billing issues.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies, principles, regulatory requirements, and corporate controls.
  • Resolve customer credit problems directly or working with others in the organization.
  • Serve as backup for certain administrative tasks, including answering the telephone, greeting visitors, and distributing company mail.
  • Observe and enforce all company personnel, quality, and safety policies.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating so that you work effectively and cooperatively with coworkers and leadership teams.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience in Economics, Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
  • 2+ years of previous related experience
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills/experience
  • Good communication skills, verbal and written
  • Ability to handle confidentiality, especially in sensitive personal matters/situations
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Detail-oriented and strong attention to detail

 PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Previous experience with JD Edwards
  • Previous experience with BI tool
