POSITION SUMMARY

SALARY RANGE:  $20.56 - $25.69

As a Truck Driver (non-CDL) with Liberty Packaging, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating a tractor-trailer or bobtail truck to ensure the delivery of products to Liberty Packaging’s customers in our local and regional markets. 

 

This full-time position reports directly to the Warehouse Manager and is located at Liberty Packaging’s manufacturing plant in Poway, California.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Load/unload or assist in loading/unloading finished product.
  • Inspect truck to ensure it has been loaded correctly and securely.
  • Responsible for pre-trip inspection sheet; verify counts while unloading.
  • Transport load by required route to destination while observing all traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • Obtain shipping bill of lading and necessary signatures and return completed documentation to shipping office.
  • Complete work reports, such as production data, truck service data, quality data, etc., accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Submit daily timecards and driver logs.
  • Perform daily services such as:  checking the oil level, water level, fuel, air in tires, and clean vehicle as needed.
  • Be proactive in reporting any truck maintenance matters to supervision immediately.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety, quality, OSHA and GMP standards, and maintaining good housekeeping.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 2+ years truck driving experience.
  • Valid Class C driver’s license.
  • Must clear background check and drug/substance abuse screening in accordance with company and DOT policies.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Ability to read work instructions to identify detailed steps for order completion. 
  • Must be available to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required. 

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • 1+ years of work experience within a manufacturing environment  
  • Experience within the corrugated industry
  • Experience with operational excellence or continuous improvement programs – Lean 6 Sigma, Kaizen Events

  • Must be able to stand for 2+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to walk for 4+ hours per shift
