POSITION SUMMARY   

The Maintenance Manager is an expert player-coach with strong electromechanical and hydraulic maintenance skills, as well as the ability to lead, coach, and organize a team. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for all aspects of equipment and systems reliability. This position requires expert maintenance and reliability knowledge, excellent communication and organizational/project skills, and strong leadership and coaching ability.   

    

This full-time position will report to the Plant Manager and is located at our Liberty Packaging facility in Fort Worth, Texas.  

    

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES   

    • Accountable for building and executing overall equipment reliability plans to ensure operational goals are achieved through effective preventative maintenance and efficient planning & scheduling.
    • Manages the development, implementation, and execution of reliability improvement processes to positively impact equipment performance and uptime. Implement processes and practices, including disciplined execution to preventative maintenance schedules, identification of downtime root causes, and development of plans to reduce future occurrences.
    • Drives engagement & accountability within the maintenance team to deliver results. Leads and encourages problem solving by all team members. Uses data and data trends to understand opportunities to reduce risk and creates/implements counter measure plans to reduce risk and reoccurrence.
    • Proactively works to ensure exceptional customer service is delivered by the team and to drive an effective partnership between maintenance and operations.
    • Develop and maintain training and onboarding programs for maintenance technicians. Where appropriate, develops standard work to document and train plant teams on established best practices, including production-owned machine upkeep.
    • Direct and ensure team’s ability to effectively perform complex preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities on industrial machinery and assembly equipment.
    • Analyze equipment and maintenance metrics to prioritize maintenance work assignments to continually improve machine reliability, safety, quality, and throughput.
    • Work with Operations team to address high priority improvement needs.
    • Work with cross-functional teams to purchase and inventory needed spare parts and consumable materials. Ensures management of all parts and tool inventories to ensure necessary repairs are completed within minimal equipment downtime in a cost-effective manner.
    • Creates and manages overall maintenance budget and makes recommendations for capital projects. Monitors and controls labor, MRO, expense, and overtime costs.
    • Responsible for all aspects of maintenance including ensuring OSHA lock out/tag out procedures are in place/documented, 100% compliance with regulations, preventative maintenance schedules, permits, and codes.
    • Responsible for building, infrastructure, and grounds to ensure a clean, safe, and secure environment for all employees.
    • Support the implementation and utilization of a computerized maintenance management system.
    • Demonstrate a commitment to safety and zero injuries through personal leadership and actions.
    • Utilize lean tools to drive continuous improvement in the plant and the Maintenance team.
    • Other duties, as assigned.

        

    REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS   

    • 4-year degree in mechanical/electrical engineering and 7 years of industrial maintenance OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • 5+ years’ experience leading teams in supervisory capacity
    • 5+ experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and boiler systems
    • Previous experience with electrical systems
    • Previous experience developing and implementing standard operating procedures
    • Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
    • Previous experience with CMMS

        

    PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS   

    • Previous experience in corrugated / converting packaging industry
    • Active Boilers license
    • Strong decision-making ability, including the ability to anticipate problems, develop contingency plans and act quickly to resolve issues.
    • Strong time management and planning skills required to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously while adapting to changes in business requirements.
    • Can be counted on to exceed goals successfully; bottom-line oriented; steadfastly pushes self and others for results.
    • Excellent computer skills; MS Office / ERP Systems
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Excellent leadership skills; able to effectively coach, persuade, and direct others.
    • Able to collaborate effectively with other departments to achieve goals and drive continuous process improvement.
