POSITION SUMMARY

As a Class A Truck Driver with Liberty Packaging - Phoenix, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating a tractor-trailer to deliver sheets and/or finished products to customers, in accordance with state laws. Flexibility on work shift and weekends required.

This full-time position reports directly to theWarehouse Supervisorand is located at Liberty Packagings manufacturing plant in Phoenix, Arizona.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Load/unload or assist in loading/unloading finished product
• Inspect trailer to ensure it has been loaded correctly and securely
• Responsible for pre-trip inspection sheet; verify counts while unloading.
• Transport load by required route to destination while observing all traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Obtain shipping bill of lading and necessary signatures and return completed documentation to shipping office.
• Complete work reports, such as production data, truck service data, quality data, etc., accurately and in a timely manner.
• Submit daily timecards and driver logs.
• Perform daily services such as: checking the oil level, water level, fuel, air in tires, and clean vehicle as needed.
• Be proactive in reporting any truck and trailer maintenance matters to supervision immediately.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety, quality, OSHA and GMP standards, and maintaining good housekeeping.
• Other duties, as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS

• Minimum 2+ years experience as a truck driver.
• Have a valid state Commercial Drivers License and meet Department of Transportation physical and medical requirements.
• Must clear background check and drug/substance abuse screening in accordance with company and DOT policies.
• High degree of attention and considerable dexterity in the control of a tractor-trailer and in the prevention of damage to materials and equipment.
• Ability to work unsupervised and independently.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS

• 5+ years experience as a truck driver preferred.
